Dear Pesto lovers, we have known each other since quite a bit of time. You appreciate the freshness and taste of our food, we do the same for your constant following and all the happyness you bring to us.
But we have to sit and talk. It's not you, it's us.
They call it "Cost of living crisis", but in reality if good old inflation caused too many pounds printed and spent. Like everyone else, we have seen costs of some thing stay stable while others skyrocketed to the moon. As you know, our prices have been stable for the most part since our opening about 3 years ago. We like the idea of earning money, but not doing so in a way that is not fully supported by quality or a worthy quantity given in exchange. We are a bit old school in this: so we shop, the same way we sell.
But there are items that have now a margin so small, we must look at it with the microscope. To just give you an idea of how costs have soared for our food, things like Butter, Mascarpone, Meat, Savoiardi biscuits, Parmesan Cheese, Tomato sauce from Italy, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Milk, Lasagna sheets and Cannelloni tubes have basically doubled, without mentioning the bills, packagings and fuels. Vegetables are one of the few things not to rise so much, even though they went up too.
As it is, we cannot keep prices as they are, because all our hard work will risk in resulting in a loss. We are, though, just rising the prices of the corresponding ingredients growth.
Here is how our prices will grow:
Tiramisu £4.50
Single lasagna £5.50
Double lasagna £9.00
Big lasagna tray (6/8 servings) £26
Pesto £3.50
Meatballs £6.00
Panna Cotta £3.00
These prices will apply from the 1st of May, so you can stock up!
We are always committed not to change ingredients lowering quality but still offer the best value in our food, so the rest of our dishes won't change price. To balance things up, our frozen lasagnas will stay at £4 for the single and go down to £6 for the double.
Nobody likes rising prices, but we hope to be clear we have stayed low for how long we could and risen only what was absolutely vital.
